Rasťo Kulich: I see artificial intelligence as a partner.

Artificial intelligenceIt has long been no longer just a trend from news headlines. It is a force that fundamentally changes business models, copyright and the way we protect intellectual property.

‍

At the conference Protect & Grow 2025we have combined technological, legal and strategic perspectives within a unique panel. We discussed how to integrate AI safely, legally and with maximum effect.

‍

‍

From “searching” to “understanding”: A lesson from Igor Pogány

‍

Panel opened Igor Pogany, a leading AI expert, with the question that defines today's effectiveness: “How long would it take you to find and analyze 100 alternatives to your product or service?” Manual processing would take approximately 30 hours.

‍

Today, tools like ChatGPT with Deep Research can do this in seconds. However, Igor highlighted a key moment: reliability and verifiability.

‍

For lawyers and companies working with sensitive data, it is not only speed that matters, but especially the ability to back up sources and process the results securely.

‍

This is where it comes into play a new generation of tools from Google.

‍

‍

Google View: AI tools like Gemini and NotebookLM

‍

The main guest of the panel was Rasťo Kulich, CEO of Google Slovakia who brought The Global Leader's View for the practical use of AI.

‍

‍Rasto sees AI as a partner that radically increases productivity:

‍

  • Gemini:Rashto presents this model as Multimodal Assistant. For businesses, this means the ability to analyze and create not only text, but also tables, charts and complex assignments in one step.

‍

“I see artificial intelligence above all as a partnerque nos permite a radicalmente increase productivity. Tools such as Gemini is no longer just about text, it is multimodal assistantable to process complex tasks, images, videos, tables or graphs in one step”, adds Rasto.

‍

  • NotebookLM:He singled out this tool as a breakthrough in working with information. It can “seed” your internal documents (contracts, documents, searches) and create summaries or podcasts from them. A huge advantage for legal certainty is that it answers only on the basis of the resources you provide, eliminating fabricated facts.

‍

“Instrument NotebookLM represents a breakthrough in working with information. A huge advantage for the legal certainty of companies is that this tool works exclusively with your internal documentsand responds only on the basis of the resources provided, effectively eliminating fabricated facts,” Rasto emphasizes.

‍

‍

Responsible AI and Security (AI Principles)

‍

For clients of our law firm is a key topic Data Security and Regulatory Compliance (AI Act).

‍

Rasto Kulich stressed that although Google advances innovation extremely quickly, it does so in accordance with the global principles of responsible AI.

‍

As stated by Google and what Rasťo Kulich also promotes in his vision for the Slovak market: “AI must be socially beneficial, safe and built on principles of transparency.”

‍

For companies, in practice, this means that when using enterprise versions of AI tools, their data is strictly protected and not used to train public models.

‍

“Our approach to developing and harnessing the potential of artificial intelligence builds on our original mission — organize information from around the worldand make them generally available and useful — and it is shaped by our commitment to improve the lives of as many people as possible,” Rasto specifies.

‍

‍

What does this mean for you?

‍

The panel discussion clearly showed that the line between technology and law is blurring. To be competitive in the AI world, you need to tackle two planes at the same time:

‍

  1. Technological: How tools like Gemini realistically deploy to processes.
  2. Legal: How to ensure that you protect your intellectual property (IP) and comply with legislation.
